Let’s float with cloud to Bandarban

If someone is told to enjoy the beauty of rainy season from Bandarban, s/he could definitely think that the proposing person has become crazy! Is it time to go Bandarban! Because there is risk of avalanche in mountain escarp caused by rain, acute malaria can also be seen. But actually, a different beauty of Bandarban is seen in rainy season.

In this time, nature blesses Bandarban with all of its beauty and glory with largess hand. Its green everywhere you can see. Sangu River also gets its youth back along with mountains this time. Sangu becomes bacchanal because of mountain escarp. This devine beauty of rainy season also touches the tribal people here. People starts harvesting Joom on mountains. Different types of fruits are sold besides the roads. You can taste fruits from mountain like banana, papaya, jackfruit, lemon etc in a very cheap rate. And it will be foolish to ask question about its freshness. Cloud is the main attraction of Bandarban during rain. You can get the rare opportunity to touch clouds with your hand only this time. Sun and rain play all the time. Perhaps you are going towards Nilgiri under the blue sky; suddenly you will notice that you cannot see anything because of heavy fog. No, that’s not fog; actually you are passing through a part of rainy cloud.

Continuous flow of fountain from rock is an extra attraction of Bandarban in rain, which is very rare in winter. But you should be very careful during enjoying it; otherwise an accident could be happened anytime.

How will you go to Bandarban…

You can go there either by road or by rail. Buses are available in morning and night from Sayedabad to Bandarban. You can collect tickets of Shyamoli, Hanif, S. Alam from their counters of Gabtoli, Kalyanpur, Kolabagan, Fakirapul and Sayedabad. These chair coach will cost you between 380-400 BDT. But AC bus will cost you more. (Cell: S. Alam – 01197015636; Shyamoli – 01732675835).

And if you prefer to go by rail, it would be better to start at night. In that case, you can grab Turna Express on 23.00 or Chittagong Mail on 22.30. After reaching Chittagong at morning, take your breakfast and go to Boiddarhat. There you will find plenty of buses leaving towards Bandarban every hour. It will cost within 100-120 BDT. It will take around 3 hours. If you cannot manage direct ticket of Bandarban, there is nothing to worry about. Ride on a bus of Cox’s Bazaar or Teknaf and get off in Keranihat, which is 57 km away from Chittagong. Bandarban is only 22 km from here. You can go there by bus or jeep (Chander Gari).

Where do you going to stay…

Some residential hotels have been built in Bandarban in last few years. Therefore you will not face any trouble to stay there. If your budget is sufficient enough then you can select to stay at night from Parjatan motel – Meghla, Hotel Royal, Plaza Bandarban or Milonchori Resort (on the way of Chimbuk, 8 km awy from city). Room fair will be between 800-2500 BDT. If you want to reduce your cost, then you can think about Hotel Three Star, Purobi, Hiltop, Hilbird (here the room fair is between 300-800 BDT). In this rainy season, you will enjoy 40-50% discount in every hotel.

At last, I would like to say that, travelling Bandarban in rainy season will provide you a divine pleasure definitely. Therefore stay out of your fear and have a travel to Bandarban to enjoy its mysterious beauty before the end of this August.
